About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Pittsburgh’s vibrant Strip District, Eleven stands out as a refined American family restaurant where culinary craftsmanship meets warm hospitality. This cozy yet sophisticated venue offers an enticing menu that masterfully showcases the best of American cuisine with a contemporary twist, making it a must-visit for locals and visitors alike.

Stepping inside Eleven, you are greeted by a dimly lit atmosphere complemented by carefully curated music that sets the perfect tone for an intimate but lively dining experience. The space is intimate enough to feel personal yet bustling with just the right level of energy, creating an inviting environment for everything from family dinners to celebratory outings.

The menu is a true testament to quality and creativity. Imagine sinking your teeth into a perfectly cooked Beef Tenderloin, paired beautifully with potato pave, roasted cipollini onions, Brussels sprouts, and broccolini, all enveloped in a luscious cognac cream and herb oil. Equally captivating are the delicate Sea Scallops served atop a fragrant red yam coconut curry, garnished with crisp cucumber, radish, and peanuts, creating an explosion of textures and flavors. For those who love bold, fresh starters, the Tuna Tartare with lemon miso, pickled ginger, and ponzu offers a tangy, refreshing bite, while the Oysters on the Half Shell arrive cold and briny — a perfect appetizer that tantalizes the palate.

Family gatherings or casual meals are equally enhanced by the Eleven Burger, elevated with a creamy layer of goat cheese that melts into every bite, or the comforting richness of slow-braised short ribs. The menu also features inventive dishes like the Gemelli pasta with braised lamb, kale, and feta, which delivers a rich symphony of savory and herbal notes.

Six dessert options invite you to indulge your sweet tooth in decadent fashion. The Chocolate Hazelnut Tart dazzles with its praline diplomat and dark chocolate ganache, balanced by a delicate brown butter milk crumble. The Eleven Grand Candy Bar, a layered masterpiece of fudge brownie, chocolate mousse, chewy caramel, and milk chocolate shell, is a divine finale that will linger in your memory long after the last bite.

Customers regularly praise Eleven for its top-notch service and attentive staff. From the moment of arrival, guests are treated to a seamless experience, complete with accommodating valet parking and prompt, friendly servers who know the menu inside and out. As Roger McMillan shared, even without a reservation, arriving early can secure a wonderful table with attentive staff ready to enhance your dining experience. Yvette Robinson, visiting from Florida, raved about the brunch—especially the perfectly cooked “Pittsburgh Blue” steak and eggs—highlighting the restaurant’s capability to leave a lasting impression on both locals and travelers.

Whether you're drawn by the artfully composed starters like the Parmesan Risotto with smoked trumpet mushrooms and crispy sage or craving the sumptuous richness of the duck breast or blue bay mussels, Eleven promises a culinary journey filled with thoughtful ingredients and impeccable flavors. The ambiance, combined with the passion reflected in every dish and the heartfelt hospitality, makes dining here feel like a delightful celebration of American fare done right.

Unable to get reservations days in advance, instead we arrived early (5PM) and were easily able to get a nice table for six. While a smaller restaurant it was a popular spot so not quiet but conversation was still easy. Plenty of staff and very attentive to our needs. Food all looked wonderful. Started with some nice oysters on the half shell, cold and tasty - I found the hot sauce very hot, be careful ! My short rib was fantastic and the sides complemented the main. I’m not crazy about squash but the purée was spectacular ! Nice dessert menu but most of us went for the Eleven Grand Bar , the obvious choice for those who like chocolate. Highly recommended.

The staff was great the pasties with apple butter was delicious. If you are in town for a conference at the conference center, be sure to stop by this place!

I firstly want to start off by saying- Our server Bobby was such a delight! He was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The whole staff seemed well coordinated and friendly/welcoming. The atmosphere is dim lit with great music choice. The food was delicious! Easily accommodated 4 people. I will be back. Once again, thank you to our server Bobby.

Where to start? From the moment we walked through the doors and before we were welcomed with such an unbelievably friendly staff, from the valets, the hostess, servers and everyone in between. (The valets were exceptionally accommodating) The food was excellent! I had the seafood sampler and my husband had the swordfish. The desserts… The presentation was impressive to say the least. But tasted even better. The attention to detail, compliments to the pastry chef! The atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely return and recommend.

We had dinner here on 10/08/2025, we felt welcomed from the time we walked in the door. We had a glass of wine waiting for our table, it was happy hour. Prices were what you would expect for fine dining. Makayla our server was fabulous she took very good care of us, I ask for suggestions and she was spot on. She was very friendly and was there literally 10 seconds before we needed her. Food was amazing

I can’t recommend this place enough! Came to celebrate a birthday and from start to finish, the entire experience was impressive. Our drinks, appetizer, meals, and dessert were all delicious and paired well together thanks to our server’s suggestions. Our server made the experience even more elevated with her knowledge of the menu! I cannot believe I have never eaten here before and am looking forward to returning!

We went here a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary. The atmosphere inside was so warm and welcoming. The winter decorations were charming. We had the gemelli and the seafood tasting. The meat was very tender and flavor was great. We had the brown butter crème brûlée for dessert. The dessert was fantastic. My only complaint would be that when the waiter took my card for payment he came back and said that it declined. This was shocking as I knew that couldn’t be right, and embarrassing. I used another card and paid, assuming there must have been an issue reading the chip, and I would check it later. Walking home, I pulled out my phone and had a notification from my bank. It stated that my card was declined due to the wrong cvv being entered. I understand mistakes happen but this really put a damper on the experience and was pretty embarrassing. I would just advise that they be more careful and detail oriented when running people’s payment. Overall, good food. Just a bit lacking in service for my experience.
